My travel blog is receiving traffic from LinkedIn. Not from my own entry but from a group. The trouble is I'm not a member of the relevant group and so cannot find out what it is that the members of the LinkedIn group find so interesting.

The URL string is here: www.linkedin.com/groupItem?view=&srchtype=discussedNews&gid=1690387&item=26186657&type=member&trk=EML_anet_qa_ttle-0Qt79xs2RVr6JBpnsJt7dBpSBA

The URL links to my blogs home page at http://travelthinking.blogspot.com rather than to an indvidual post. The next thing is that all the visitors are based in the US and I'm in the UK. Its an intriguing position to be in. Does anyone know how I can decipher the code in order to access the group?

As far as I can tell http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=1690387 (Social Media in Travel) is the group, you just take the gid from the URL you have.

Once you've joined you can obviously just use your original URL to get to the exact item.

Speed,

thanks. I searched for the group using the GID reference and solicited an invite.
