I have a wordpress blog with Captcha enabled. Then I see a sudden burst of spam coming in past the captcha. Now either these people are actually doing these manually, which is doubtful considering I have a number of them are exactly the same wording and just the link is changed, or there is a new tool that gets around the captcha.
I noticed they ALL said they were from wordpressbot. So if this thing can bypass captcha, how can I stop it from flooding my blog comments with trash?
And how can we get these spammers' messages to make a little bit of sense?

dinghus theres a website with an api any of these new generation spambots can plug right into to beat captchas. The best thing to do is start using a math geared captcha system mate. Image based ones are too easy to beat nowadays.
I dunno, I don't trust people enough to do addition, lol.
I've been thinking about something even simpler, just giving a list of words:
Here are three words: Car, bird, house.
Two of the words were Car and house. What was the third? _____________
Not sure, though, that might just be too simple and get beaten even faster.

Hmmmmm. Okay. Wish I was smart enough to write a program that beats captcha. I could make a bundle before it was useless again. :)
Maybe I should make it so people have to be members to post.

Dingus yeh I am sure they are making damn good money too. They only charge $2 per 1000 beaten captchas, so a ton of programs use them.

Thing is there are plenty of decaptcha services out there.. if you're using an outdated model.. spammers are sure to find you anyway.
