What are the best free services to build links to your site?
Does anyone here has any experience of building links with such programs?

LinkVana is pretty decent - but rather pricey! The free ones aren't worth your time - they have all been abused by spammers etc.

No one on earth would do link building for free, or if anyone is doing it then be completely satisfied that if they are not fooling you with spamming up resulting in degrading of your site.

The best free link building service is at the end of your arms LOL If you want quality and you want it to be free, you have to be prepared to do it yourself. You do not need tons of links, what you need is high quality links and it is very difficult to get any kind of software to do that for you with any kind of success or "stickiness". If you want a service to do it for you, you should make sure the service does it manuallym doesn't leave spam comments and you need to be prepared to pay for it.

I've never heard of a free link building service, but if you find one that is willing to work for free, let me know. I've got a lot of projects around the house that need to be done, plus two cars that seriously need to be washed... :D

Yeah... Ummm... Don't expect to get something for nothing. Unfortunately, like most things in life... if a links worth having, it's worth putting forth a little effort (or $$$).
If you want to learn how to build quality links I'd suggest you follow "Link Moses" as Eric Ward is called. He's been buiding links for a decade and a half. Here is a link to a page where Eric links to a lot of his old posts and articles on link building (http://www.ericward.com/bestpractices/index.html). While he may never give away his "secret sauce" he does elude to a lot of tips that will make you stop and think about links in a totally different way.
One of his guiding principles is "merit-based links". In order to get quality links (even when building them yourself) you HAVE to have high qualit content that "merits" a link from a quality site.

I agree, you get what you pay for.
I've never even heard of free link building services. If you're determined to get free links though, you're best bet is to do it yourself.

Best free service? INTERNS!!! Love them. Put them to work. Don't pay them. Give them a nice letter of recommendation when they're done :)

Ermm.. I don't think there's such a thing as a free link building service.. the most you'll get for free is some indexer. You'll have to pay for decent link building no two ways about it.

You can get links for free. Comment dofollow blogs, register at catalogues, find article submitting services, exchange links. All this free and really work.

Here's my suggestion for link building... create you best content and submit it to article directories, set up Google blog alerts for your keyword and post worthy comments, search for your keyword in Google and click on "discussions" in the left hand side and participate in forums.
I know someone who built up over 100,000 links following this method every day!

If only there was a free link building service. Unfortunately the only free linkbuilding service is by doing it yourself - and that may not cost money but it does cost time.
In my view, the decision to make is to evaluate whether the cost of paying for links outweighs the cost of your time when doing it yourself.

Who ever started this thread was dreaming, it all cost. Time or money, and time is more valuable.

If you want to have free links, see social bookmarks services, catalogues, forums. But one link with pr4 is better than everything this.
