In rather pointless benchmark, DownloadSquad (http://www.downloadsquad.com/2010/06/23/internet-explorer-9-vs-chrome-6-developer-video-speed-benchmark/) has tested latest Internet Explorer 9 build against Google Chrome 6 dev.

What are the results?
As seen in video above, IE9 annihilated Chrome. However, while it does sound great, author failed to mention that Google Chrome 6 does not really support hardware acceleration (still in early development stage). Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

Anyway, more interesting bit from the article is this: he also ran same test on Opera and it was substantially faster that Chrome or Firefox. No, Opera does not yet support hardware acceleration.

Upcoming Firefox 3.7 build (that supports hardware acceleration) was also tested and it was able to keep up with IE9.

I think Siamese Fighters would kill each other before this test completes

I have heard many good things about IE9, though it is still in its early stages of development. But I really do hope Microsoft gets it right this time around.
And I don't think this test is indicative of anything as both as unfinished products.
