If I wrote a little freeware app based on my experience with the Wordpress html editor am I allowed to post it here?

We don't encourage self promotional posts, in general .. if it specifically answered a need of a current post or question, that would be fine. But why not put it in your signature file?

Even those with good intentions open the doors for those without good intentions. Much easier to make a general policy
