Page rank is great.
But it is not all Google looks at.
It takes more to get from 5 to 6 then it takes to get from 1 to 2. Each number you move up is harder to obtain.
Since there are over 100 things that Google looks at page rank is only one of them.
Meta tags also play a roll also.
Page keyword string is:
From what I can tell it looks like you have about 300 key words. I would get those down to at the most 50 words.
Frames can also hurt your ranking. You need <h1> <h2> and <h3> tags.
Text or good content is also very important.
But with all that said if your site is not user friendly it all means nothing.
You can be ranked number's 1-20 on every search engine but if your site does not work with your customers it does you no good.
I'm not being mean and please do not take this the wrong way but you need to put your site in site design.
The text is hard to read and you have text running all over the screen that makes it hard to read what is going on.
There are 100 things Google looks at butyour customers only look at a couple things.
You have 5 seconds to tell your customer what you do.
Your site is easy to nav. but you need a good logo.
Since you did not ask me to look at your site I will stop there. But I promise in the long run you will be happy if you run it threw site design and make some changes.

Just one solitary link, on a PR8 page that doesn't have too many links on it, could make the receiving page a PR7.
How easy that will be to attain depends on you and on your site.

Hi ReadyCompanies,
We are trying to do the same thing that your doing.
Our web site is only about 7 months old.
I have some one working full time on nothing but links. The problem is that the pr8 sites are very hard to get a link from and how many are you going to be the only link on the page.
Also it takes Google a long time to find the links.
I herd and as I said before I do not know if this is true but I herd about 3 months to find a link back to your site in most cases.
I'm not sure of any sites on this form that are even a pr6. A lot of the sites on this form giving SEO information are only a pr4.

should i go ahead and get listed in these directories
would it not help in increasing the overall PageRank
- every one-way link helps - right

Hi ReadyCompanies,
We are going to go back and start getting listed in the pay directories. We started this business with no money.
When I say no money I mean at that time in our life's we did not have enough money to pay for hosting.
We spent the first month praying a lot and advertising for free in any way we could.
The second month we were hit with more work then we could do.
As the business started growing we had to pay for computers and labor. Now we have the money but have not had the time. It is something I do plan on doing. Maybe we can get it done this month.

Ah-ha! Now you've gotten to the real issue. Not how to raise your PR, because you now know that, but instead, how to do that which will give you that PR. How to get a link from a PR8 page.
It is surprising how many webmasters worry about how to get a link, when thinking nothing of how much harder it is to get someone to reach into their wallet and give you their credit card details.
The answer is selling.
You can buy that link, either with cash or with some agreement.
You can earn that link by simply being the very best in your field, such that if any PR8 page is ever going to link to any site in your field, it will be yours.
The exact strategy and method is up to you. You know what you need, now go get it.

"PR is all about links" - right
Yep, that's pretty much it. Although, there's the weighting factor. Not all links are equal by a long shot. It is more about importance. An important page is the one lots of people talk about and refer to (which online translates to links).
PR is a way of measuring that form of importance, in a mathematical/numerical manner.

how about business.com, joeant.com - is it worth it
There are literally thousands. There are hundreds that will list you for free, and that's certainly one place to start. Even JoeAnt allows free submission, but you generally have to become one of the volunteer editors (or know one) if you don't want to pay for submission.
JoeAnt isn't that important yet, but has just grown to become a PR7 site (the homepage PR) recently. Compare that with the pr for Yahoo.com or Dmoz.org though and you see what I mean about its importance so far...
However, any mention is a good mention.
For sheer volume, do some smart searches. Put in keyword phrases related to your service/business and the words "add url" or "submit URL" or "add your site", etc, etc. This will find you hundreds of places to submit your link. Ignore the ones that demand a link back, as those are simply boosting their own PR and you'll lose more than you gain from them.
For quality, look for those important sites relating to what you are about, and sell them your link, as a businessman or marketer must often do.

This is the goose that lays the golden egg. There are two ways to get links from high ranking sites:
1 - Spend some cash
2 - Offer them something of equal value for the link, such as content so compelling that not linking to it would be foolish considering the potential value to their users.
You can also do some old-fashioned bartering. I have a deal with a site where I get a permanent static text link on their homepage (high PR7) in exchange for a permanent ad in my monthly newsletter.

SPEND SOME CASH
easy - but pay thru the nose
- anyway how much would it be for a PR7 page?
Offer Them Something
SEO and WebDesign related companies are always going to be ahead of the rest of us in Offer something.
SEO guys churn many newsletters after newsletters
- so much material which are good to read
The rest of us are so busy running the business
- where do we FIND the time to write GOOD ARTICLES
anyway let's keep on trying - Never Say Die
