Currently I'm paying a fortune for hosting my site and approuched www.host4apound.co.uk and unfortunatetly they don't hosts Chilisoft ASP and 2 MySQL databases?

I'm searching for a company that charges like host4apound & able to host Chilisoft ASP & 2 MySQL databases.

So why don't you look for a Windows host?

Personally, I wouldn't. asp is not native to unix.
asp belongs with Windows, especially if you want reliability and stability.

One host i signed a client up with is http://www.zesthost.com/ (who i am in no way affiliated with). Thus far haven't had much trouble with them - their support is a tad slow, but they are by far the cheapest and offer the most that i have seen, with their developer plan offering 3 MySQL dbs. They are windows based - but like cyanide said - cant see why you'd want otherwise for ASP!

but we do not support asp sorry...

I also use ZestHost, they are a good company, at stupidly low prices. The support Is a bit slow, and the domain name isn't included, but they are really good, give them a go.

Personally, I'm down with Sectorlink (http://www.sectorlink.com). I don't have any affiliation with them either; just a dedicated box, and I've been a customer for over 2 years (the fact that they've even been around that long should tell you something right there, based on the way hosting companies tend to fly by night these days).

Anyway, they support ASP and MySQL. They only offer 1 database by default, but you can always ask for another one; they're usually accommodating to requests, no matter how strange. I'm not sure if they charge for the second though, since we use either Access or MS-SQL, other than for the odd vBulletin forum.

The support is absolutely amazing; if it's something relatively easy to fix, like updating an FTP login/password, it's usually done in less than an hour. They've never taken longer than 24, and the support request I made was a rather odd one, so I was expecting it.

They're a great company to deal with and they're not going anywhere anytime soon.

Why is in a requirement to have two MySql db's?

My previous host only provided one, but I ran thirteen different sets of tables in the one database.

If that is your only hold up on a cheaper hosting deal, don't let it break it. Just use more tables in the one database.

Windows servers cost more than Unix / Linux - that's just a given. What's worse though is that they are fraught with difficulties. I was constantly fighting server problems and always having to change hosting companies until I threw in the Windows "towel" and moved to Unix, changing my programming language from ASP to PHP.

Thank goodness I made the switch (it's been over two years now). Now my clients and I can concentrate on development and design and no longer worry about hosting issues.

I even got into the hosting business as a reseller and have developed a close relationship with our partners who actually maintain and support the servers.

There are good and bad hosting companies out there, but in general you're better off on a non-Windows box.
