There is a wordpress plugin called SEO Smart Links (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/seo-automatic-links/) which looks like it could be a great option to assist in interlinking pages and articles on your blog but I definitely need some input from anyone who's ever used it, is using it or has found some useful information regarding the plugin.

I do thank you in advance for your contributions.

I have some reservations though right off the hop (that's why I posted this but...) like how on God's green earth will this simple plugin determine relevancy of links and content?

i really can't wait to see and hear of some good or bad examples of this Smart Links plugin...

Looks like a nice plug to use, do you have stats about people using it ?

Thanks

Well I went ahead and installed the plugin SEO Smart Links but have yet to publish an article since. I did however, check in the settings of the plugin, there was an ability to link out to categories as well if there were keywords in an article that were categories as well. I didn't like the result at all as after I checked an article I found there were at least 9 links on that page to the same category - obviously nine instances of that category keyword.

Either way, I set the maximum amount of links per page to categories/posts to 1 - only one but that didn't work so either I'm doing something wrong in the settings or the plugin isn't working properly.

Lastly, I just approved an article and did find that it did nicely work in creating one link on the article to another similar article. The keyword in the approved article was networking and it linked directly to an article titled Networking. That's not too bad for now.

Just installed this on a clients site. Did a great job but not that great. It seems a bit sketchy to say the least! It has problems picking keywords out of heavily coded text (spans, divs, bolds, italics etc) and if you add your own links manually it doesn't recognise those links and adds another one (i also have it set to link once to each page). Overall though, saves me a lot of time and you do get quite a bit of control over what it does from the admin page (think this has recently been updated).

Yes that was my issue as well. I don't like that at all. I ended up having "internet marketing" anchor text all over the post, all linking into the internet marketing category. That looked spammy and as we know doesn't do a thing for us SEO wise.

Maybe I'm setting it up wrong in the plugin's configuration page...

Unfortunately I have to agree at this time. It's OK another plugin will be created eventually, that will do the trick properly.

I really need to create my own plugin just to see how creating plugins work...then I can make my own to do this...
