SCSI to usb adaptor?

I have an few old bits of hardware that connect to scsi ports. Is there a way I can still use these on a modern computer that only has usb etc ports.

The only scsi to usb adaptor i could find cost $109 which isnt worth it for what i want to do, I was thinking something around $20.

what type of SCSI? depending on the type it maybe better to buy a card and use a external cable from the back of the card.
You can get a SCSI to IDE adapter from Ebay for 37.95.
