I would like to place some downloadable files on my site and in certain e-mails. How do I do this? My site is hosted by tripod and I favor yahoo for e-mail.

All you need to do is upload them and create links to the files. Put a note saying to right-click the link and choose 'save as' , which will open a window for the user to save to their desktop.

Like this (example would download a GIF image resident on your site):
To download NameOfFile, right click here and select Save (nameoffile.gif)
If you're using a WYSIWYG web page page editor, you can do this by clicking on "add hyperlink" or a similar command from the menus.

Actually, in defense of Ralyn (who you may note is identified as a Newbie in the Forum), I have seen this question many times in the past - many people who have created websites don't realize that the steps to creating a downloadable file are the same as creating a link to another webpage. Once you know this, it seems obvious, but until you do, I guess the assumption is that there must be some extra steps that are necessary...
