Default Open Source CMS - Test drive CMS with Admin Access too

OpenSourceCMS was created to give you the opportunity to "try out" some of the best open source and free php/mysql based software systems in the world. You can log in as the administrator to any site here, thus allowing you to decide which system best suits your needs.

Each system is deleted and reinstalled every two hours. This allows you to be the administrator of any system here without fear of messing anything up.

All systems are programmed in PHP and use MySQL databases.

A small sampling of what you can find here:

  • CMS Portals
    Back-end
    Drupal
    E-XOOPS
    Geeklog
    Mambo
    phpNuke (3 flavors)

    CMS Blogs
    bBlog
    Nucleus
    WordPress

    CMS - e-Commerce
    MyMarket
    osCommerce
    Zen Cart

    CMS - Groupware
    dotProject
    eGroupWare
    Moregroupware
    phpCollab
    PHProjekt

    CMS - Forums
    openBB
    Phorum
    phpBB
    W-Agora
    XMB

    CMS - e-Learning
    Claroline
    Moodle
    Segue

    CMS - Miscellaneous
    Coppermine
    Gallery
    Owl
    phpMyChat

I tried out WordPress and it was way cool. If you are looking for any software to build your website with, then this is the place to go and try it all out so you can decide what is best for you.

THERE IS ONE CAVEAT - All of this software is PHP/MYSQL software only. No PERL, No CGI, No ASP. Got it....good! ;0)

As a result of a user suggestion at OpenSourceCMS, they have created a new "CMS feature list" section to show case the features of each CMS. This checklist of features is either comes from the developer of the CMS whom is willing to put something together (for example Nucleus CMS, zTml) or from what they could gather from the CMS official sites.

It seems to be a work in progress right now, but should help a little in the evaluation of the software.

The feature lists seem to be a readers digest version compiled from the various CMS sites, so you will have to take that with a grain of salt. For a more detailed comparison of features -- visit CMS Matrix
