Yes, publisher can create and publish "web sites".
I say "web sites" in quotes because the product
is not the best. Better to use software specifically
designed to creat web pages / html.

To publish the "MS Publisher" file(s) there are
a few choices... all this can be found by clicking on
the "help" button in MS publisher.

You can load it to the server the same way you can if you build the site in Notepad... probably FTP.

But, having seen the results of someone using Publisher, I agree with vwebworld: don't.

Yes, there ia a 'web site' template set in Publisher.
Remember, tho, MS inserts all sorts of funky code/tags/references.
When uploading, don't forget the pagename_files folder(s) that contain said funkiness or the site will not function properly.

I agree, only use as a totally LAST resort.

FYI & HTH!

Tehe - My first website was made on Publisher some 4 years ago, yes it has templates and can produce some good looking sites but has too many drawbacks to be taken for a serious website that needs to function.

If I remember rightly, using Pub2000 - you need to start the new project wizard <File><New> and select 'Websites' - There then should be some templates (you may need the Office discs if you haven't customised the install). You can upload you website via Internet Explorer (win 2000 or XP) but there are planty of free FTP programs available to do this job better.

Can I suggest you friend tries Namo's Web Editor 3 - It's availalbe for FREE download and is just perfect for the novice web designer - loads of templates and has a built in FTP function.

Drawbacks of Pub 2000 - I found that Publisher converted large sections of the page into graphics, which included text. This means that the site will be slow on the download side and want be propperly crawled by search engine bots - so won't get listed very high, if at all.
