PHP link checker script needed

Hi specialists,

I'm looking for a PHP script that runs on the latest version of PHP and works like the W3C link checker (http://validator.w3.org/checklink). I found some scripts (googling) but can't seem to find a single one that works out of the box or the scripts have way to many features and are therefore to complicated for what I'm trying to do. I'm quite handy with Javascript and VB (asp) but I'm a beginner at PHP.

Can anyone either provide a link to a download or has anyone written one before I could 'steal' ?
