Default Feeding xfdf to browser

Here's something that I've done before, but it doesn't seem to work in IE6.

Basically, I want to send a fellow employee a link to an xfdf file on the webserver. He should be able to navigate to the link and it will open the correct pdf with all form fields populated from the xfdf so he can print the completed form.

It works fine in Firefox and Opera, but IE6 - which I know he uses - chokes, saying "File does not begin with '%PDF-'". If I try using an fdf it also works fine except in IE, which simply displays the content of the fdf.

I haven't been able to find anyone else complaining about this online. Is this a known problem? Any ideas?

Thanks,
Chris Collins
