Default Opening files in an application

Hi,
I'd like to know if the following scenario is possible using asp
I have an asp page listing a number of ".asp" files .I want to provide a functionality in which , I can click on the file name and it opens in a visual studio environment.
Now using response.contenttype i can open only the html code within the ".asp" pages. Can i get to open the entire file as it is (including server side code) in a visual studio environment.
Thanks in advance.
Jay

since .asp pages are run through the asp processor, you can't get the source code unless you change the extension of the file maybe to .txt

Im not 100% certain for what you are asking, but I will attempt to help:
- If you want to open an asp file on your computer, you can use any text/code editor to open it. I am assuming thats not what you're asking, but you keep refering to "visual studio environment", which got me a little confused, are you talking about Microsoft Visual Studio?

- If you are asking about editing a file on your server in a Web-based method (i.e. using a browser), in a textarea, then yes it is possible. Its basically a Web-based file manager/editor, a popular one is Fileman. Here is a link:

Hopefully this is helpful. Ask again if you need more clarification.

Jamal
