Problems uploading files from Dreamweaver 8

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this post, I apologise if it isn't.

I have a problem, I'm not sure if its something to do with Dreamweaver8 or something else. I have several sites mostly hosted by one web host.

The problem:

After successfully logging into one of my sites, I get this error message pop-up on Dreamweaver when I try to upload a file to the host site:

The error message happens both on my desktop as well as when I use my laptop to upload. Ive also tried to use ws-ftp to upload, and get a message saying that it wasn't put on the server. The file is actually on the server and just want to update it. Ive checked the file permissions on the server, which is set at 644.

I don't know why this is happening?

The problem has now been solved.

The shared server went down for around 2 1/2 days
