Default PHP Expert - Need A Partner

Hello, I've been on here quite a while, but I'm looking for the most elusive animal ever. That's right, I'm seeking a reliable, affordable, proficient PHP developer. Does this animal exist? Have you seen one? Can you point me in the right direction?

My preference is someone local to me, or at least in the US, but quality is much more important to me, as is reliability, and speed. We're quoting new projects every day, and we need someone we can rely on. I'd prefer someone I could partner with, and build a business.

Main focus will be ecommerce and development for the Pinnacle Cart shopping cart system.

Please let me know if you are aware of this animal and if they are available for consistent work.

Php expert? what is that?

In my definition.

1. PHP dabbler, can knock out a few basic scripts that reguire a minimal of user interaction. Can at a stretch possibly modify a few existing PHP applications to work the way the customer desires.

2. PHP hacker. Has a sound understanding of procedural PHP and can modify/extend most PHP applications to do exactly what the customer desires.

3. Php Expert. Can take a set of parameters and programme requirements and turn them into a functional programme.

4. PHP professional. Can take a set of parameters and requirements and can delegate responsibility to a team of programmers that all understand enterprise application design and a thorough understanding of design patterns and how they apply to modern web applications.

5. PHP smart ass. The guy that knows php inside out. He understands C++, compilers and how to write extensions to PHP to optimize the particular application he is writing as php can only do so much, sometimes its just quicker and more benificial to write an extension in C++ to suit a particular application.

The guys and gals from 3-5 will also know xhtml/css backwards, xhtml 1.1 (rendered as xhtml) is the standard to work toward and xml is the choice for configuration files rather than a new buzzword.

There are experts and "experts" which are you looking for? one is cheap the other not so cheap. One dithers and promises, the other signs NDA's and delivers on time every time.

The difference? price.

I just visited your site.

Now please don't take offense I am calling this as I see it.

You are selling a product. The red and green color scheme is aggressive. NO NO NO. Change this, learn the psychology of color. It is documented on these forums as to what colors sell to western audiences and eastern audiences. Learn your market and pander to it.

Your prominent search engine results are for. hrrmm, I don't know, your inner pages have no title tags and your copy is riddled with spelling mistakes. Your search engine returns are a mish mash. What keywords are you trying to rank for?

Honestly you should look at your site with a 20 inch+ monitor, it renders well enough but some things could be tidied. I'm using a 24 and a 26, your site renders nicely but fonts are inconsistent.

Bottom line for your site, would I buy from you?
NO
I'm not sure what you are selling?

You seem to be selling a php shopping cart but looking at your site you are selling website/graphic design services coupled with video development (whatever that is).

Buy another domain name and use that to sell services. Use wordldfire.com to sell the application, promote it as a brand name.

To summarize, color scheme on main site is too aggressive. Purpose of main site needs clarification. Auxillary services need their own site.

Hope that helps.

Uhhmmm...Easywebdev...well, your first post obviously didn't grasp the "reliable, proficient, affordable" that was posted in my question. Not sure how I can explain it more.

Your second post wasn't requested. So, there yah go.

Expert coder will only produce expert code if there is a reason to. Money alone cannot buy great code. Reliability is a two way relationship. As for animal, there is a beast in all of us.

...each with their own price.

Nicely put, by the way. Easywebdev.
