Default ascii output from database

Hello everyone.

The problem I have is that one of my sites was a template that i downloaded and whenever a user sends a message to another user and uses an apostrophe in the sentence such as 'that's hers'...the 'that's' part will display this way:

That&#039s.

Does anyone have any idea why and how I can resolve this brutal issue?

Hi,
If you are using PHP then while showing the output use the function html_entity_decode(), it will convert the ascii denomination to the actual entity.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

oh wow there's output everywhere...

i guess i can look into whether there is a .tpl or .php function that does it globally - I mean data that is outputted as text...

Hi,

Thats great!

Yes you add this function in the .tpl file or common .php file to make it global or the other thing you can do is remove htmlentities() function form the file through which the data is being instered in the database the you will not have to decode html entities while showing the output.

Cheers!
