Default Excel and Powerpoint

I've a web server running Linux and MySQL. The website is developed using JSP. I need to generate dynamic Excel spreadsheets & charts and Powerpoint slides.

Presently, charts generated by JSP using its graphing functions. Excel charts can be created using ASP and Office Web Components on Windows platform.

I heard that SoftArtisans' ExcelWriter only works with Java and not JSP.

So my question is : how to generate dynamic Excel spreadsheets & charts a Powerpoint slides using the current Linux / MySQL?

Let me elaborate further. I need the spreadsheets and charts to be in Excel format so that my clients can download them for analysis.

Any response is appreciated.

Default Excel and Powerpoint

I've read an article on how to export from an ASP.net web form to Excel here:

Does anyone know how to do it in ASP?

Powerpoint - provide these presentations as a download. They are usually quite large files anyway.
Excel - download the latest Open Office & use the spredsheet function in there - it's compatible with Unix. http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.1/index.html

Thanks smiley and Adamwlad. That php example is useful. However, I'm presently using JSP. Do u have something similar in JSP? I guess after I create an Excel spreadsheet / chart, generating a Powerpoint slideshow should be simpler.

Thanks a lot!
