Default Setting up a form- big troubles

Hey guys. I am trying to set up this form for my users, so they can select a review, hit go, and be taken to the page. You can see the code here:
http://www.technicalgeek.com/800%20x...0HTML/form.htm
It's not working on my Mac or PC (Safari or IE)
I realllly need help. Any other suggestions on how to implement a different code or fix this one would help me a great deal.
Thank you so much!

Hi Becky,

I had a look at your page, and the script wouldn't work with Mozilla Firefox either. So I've posted a version of your games review menu on my site. Have a look and see if that works okay for you.
The browser automatically redirects to the page on select.

Paul

Hey Paul. I tried implementing the code on this page, but it is not working :(
http://www.technicalgeek.com
None of the references are correct, but still, they should at least go to a broken link page. I also don't know why the toolbar is set off all the way to the side, because on Safari it looks fine.
Ugh, web design is so annoying.... :)
Thanks for the help!

Hi Becky,

I'm really confused as to why it shouldn't work. If all your reviews are stored in your "Games" folder then the links should be fine. I notice many of your menu links are pointing to a folder (under technicalgeek) call 800 x 600. For one thing, you should not have spaces in your folder & filenames.. as this can cause complications. Secondly, for the purposes of site structure, you need to know where all your relevant information is stored.

The current link to your Games Review section reads:
http://www.technicalgeek.com/800%20x%20600/BASIC%20HTML/Games.htm

The script on the menu redirect I gave you works fine.. it's just a case of correcting the URLs. The script uses your domain name as a root.. so that your select options just have to point to the relevant folder beneath that base URL. If your reviews are contained in a folder called 'Games' which is in turn, in a folder called '800 x 600' then obviously the links won't work.

Maybe you need a site map? :o)

Paul

Hi Paul. I put the file in the same place the original was... therefore all the links (except for the very first one) should work.

(of course the pictures don't work now!)
It still is not working. Do you suggest I rename everything to better filenames and a better folder structure?

In a word, Yes! :o)
the paths that were in the original script you had would reference files locally.. but were not the correct format for a proper URL. If I see back-slashes (\) in any filepath on a website page.. I get alarm bells ringing! LOL!!

As for your site structure...for one thing, do you have two games folders that both contain reviews? I suspect you have! :o) You'll save yourself so much hassle in the long run if you just make sure your site is logically organised.. and you stick to a standard way of naming your files.

Any further help or advice, please post back here.

Good luck!

Paul

Hey Paul.
I have changed my entire folder structure! I created meta refresh pages for all of my old links, and now all the pages have links that look like this:
http://www.technicalgeek.com/Games/aoe.htm
I tried to put in another form. It still does not work, even though I changed the old links to the new links. Any more tips?
Thanks for your time...
