Question Google-Analytics code in EarlyImpact/ProductCart ASP

My boss sent me an email and requested that I put the following code on EVERY page in our system so he can use Google-Analytics to track our pages:

Code:
<script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript">
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
_uacct = "[acct-number removed]";
urchinTracker();
</script>
The thing is, we use an online application by Early Impact called ProductCart. It's our shopping cart system completely written in ASP. Therefore, all the "content" of our site is dynamically-generated ASP pages with our products. I have NO CLUE how to add this code. Is there some other alternative way of making Google-Analytics work without putting this code on EVERY page?

Also, are both of the <script.> tags supposed to go into the <head.> of the page, or is it supposed to be divided between <head.> and <body.>?

I need major P.D.Q. help on this!

Well do you have a footer file that you can place the code in.

So am I to believe that the Google-Analytics JavaScript can be placed within the <body.> tags then? That's where the footer.asp file I have access to would put the code on each page.

Please verify my conclusion.

Aaaah, there inlies the problem: I didn't sign up for/pay for/get the code from Google. It was my boss and all he did was send me an e-mail with the code and said "put it on every page on our website" - I had no clue where it went or how to implement it.

I guess he didn't read that far. He's good like that - pays for stuff because HE likes it and then plops it on my lap to make it work. Well, it keeps things interesting around here to say the least!

There are two varieties of urchin code, one for content pages, the other for the ecommerce transaction pages.

Here's a link to the insertion instructions straight from Google.

How do I track e-commerce transactions?

Visit the users forums for your cart. You should be able to find instructions on implementing the urchin code so that it loops through all the products in the cart after the order is submitted. This is necessary if you hope to track products, orders and monetary values somewhat accurately.

Make sure your boss has set you up with Admin access to the Google Analytics interface so you can adjust any settings required.
