Default URL's rewrite

I would like to suggest a client who owns an online store with thousands of products to rewrite multiple URL's to make them static.

Is there a way to rewrite multiple URL's at once in order to avoid rewriting them one by one?

If there is solution to this problem, could you provide a solution for Apache, UNIX and IIS servers.

Do you laso have an idea of how much time it could take to rewrite the URL's?

This is a great tool but it only works for one dynamic URL at the time. I don't want to be difficult and I thank you, but this does not answer my question.

Thanks,

Does your online store application support URL rewriting ? If not, you could have to rewrite all the application in order to rewrite the URL's.

Yes, it is possible to rewrite 1000 URL's with 2 lines of code, if you are lucky. This is very much depending on the existing URL's and the existing application. Apache and Linux are much better than IIS and Windows as far as URL rewriting is concerned.

Because by not changing the URL's to static, I could run the risk of indexation issues. But yes, with enough links to it, any URL is indexable. Nevertheless, I ant to have clean, short URL's. It will not hurt.

OK that is fine, but just make sure your set up proper 301 redirects in the htaccess file if your website is hosted on Apache.
