can someone point me in the right direction' this page was creating on a very old publisher98
messages from a user is below. "I tried to check out your website: restored-classics.com because I have a 1946 Plymouth I need parts for. However, in both IE7 and FireFox 2.0.0.11, links and text overlap each other and it is difficult to read and navigate. I've left both browsers in their default settings. If there is some other settings I need to do in order for the webpage(s) to display, please let me know. " "It seems to be on every page. It's almost as if you have text layers on top of layers with images & drawings and they're not aligning properly or the text is too big for the container that it's in and it's overlapping the images/containers. I tried making my default text display in my Firefox browser smaller, but I guess the size is set by your style sheets. Maybe the CSS/DIV alignment is off?" P.S. well yes there is plenty of layers. I just need to know why this user sees a blurred page, and not another user.

I think the user may have sight problems, and zoomed in the page or turned on magnification in the browser. When I zoom in (CTRL + mouse wheel) everything just runs together and starts to overlap. Your containers all seem to be fixed in size, so when the font size is increased, things will start to break out of the containers and run into each other.

Wige?
You think 'when the font size is increased,' - is causing this viewer problems. Thanks Mate, That never occurred to me. gotta give you a rep point for that. I know there are plenty of faults. . just needed to know why this user has a problem. DaveSawyer said your home page contains 1197 errors in the HTML. yes Dave I know this, but today I am simply looking at single problem that a new user is having. ( 1197 errors WOW! I wonder If i hold some sort of record)

I did do a quick look to see if I could spot any simple solution, but it looks like there would need to be a rewrite to correct for this unfortunately. However, this issue is not unique to your site (if this is in fact the cause) - a lot of sites have issues with zooming.

Thanks wige. I have the greatest bunch of users on the net. they mostly tell me of problems I will work out a way to get them to put their glasses on, (same as they do when reading the newspaper)

It's not a zooming problem as changing the text size has no effect.
Many of the site errors could probably be removed by using a more appropriate doctype. After fixing that, you might be able to see the wood... |

Dave, I got an email from the user saying it was fixed. But I never touched anything because I did not know what to touch.
I sent an email to the user with what Wige said and I am hoping for a reply soon. (find out if he changed anything) using publisher98 on these pages changing doc types is impossible, I can only add code to the content.

Text size certainly screws things up for me on Firefox (haven't tried any other browsers)
