Default mod_rewrite question

I am having a problem with my urls.

For example, if you type in Blackberrydownunder you will see I am on page one in google. If you click on this link it takes you to the wrong advertisement. See here: blackberrydownunder

Now, if you type in another keyword I am ranking for “D’Lish Smoothies” and if you click on this link it takes you to the same page. See here: http://www.business-trader.com.au/buy_sell_business_australia/D'Lish+Smoothies/1544/Other/6/1/index.html

What is going on?

I recently had a mod_rewrite done and the person who done this for me said that it is an error that was there before he changed the urls. How can I fix this?

All help is greatly appreciated.

regards

watto

It is hard to give you any indication as to why your URL rewrite is pointing to the wrong directions. The solution is in your mod-rewrite or .htaccess file.
Can you post just a chunk of the htaccess file code so we can see what's going on?

The person you have been working with needs to correct the error and not just give you the excuse that it was there before.

sorry this is not clear to me, if you copy and show the code you are using in .htaccess file (if you are using Linux server) I can tell you the solution.

It looks like the mod_rewrite is taking the keyword from the advertisement and a UID of some sort and then redirecting to the page. There are a couple of things that may be happening.

Is the URL for D'Lish what you are expecting (I am not talking about what web page is served, but what the address bar shows)?

- If it is, then there is a problem in the .htaccess with where the rewritten URLs are being pointed to.

- If it isn't, then there is a problem in the .htaccess with how the URLs are being rewritten. Once this problem is solved you can then check against where they are being pointed to.

While the two options might look alike, the key difference is likely to be the reason behind the confusion.
