Default Secure and nonsecure message

Please help me understand this MS popup.

I am trying to finish up my home-grown shopping cart, but I keep getting the MS "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items" message. I do not own a SSL; I have a shared one through my web host.

I've read as much as I could on the subject and I understand I should replace every image reference from http to https. Yet, I still get the message.

Does this message come up on external javascripts too (I have G analytics js running)? How about anchor links to an http page? Flash objects?

Thanks.

Hi getmea,

Every element that is apart of the page, must be secure. Images, flash, css, javascript, objects, etc.

css - yes
external javascripts - have to be on an https
flash - must be through https
anchor links - do not matter

The only thing is that when you click on a link from an https connection that points to an http page, you may get an error that reads "you about to leave a secure page yada yada"

Hope that helps.

Yessssssssssss!

I secured my CSS file links and the analytics JS and it worked...Thanks very much, Carpediem!

The information I read never mentioned the above 2 file types...
