Default How to do a mod_rewrite?

I would like to convert all of my dynamic pages to static. I was told that doing a mod_rewrite is will do this, but I have no idea how.

I am willing to pay for the work, however, if it is not that difficult, a little guidence would be appreciated.

Please visit www.business-trader.com.au and I look forward to your reply.

Kind Regards

watto

mod_rewrite will make the pages appear static for search engines and site visitors. It will not actually make the pages static.

What do you want to achieve - actually converting your dynamic content to static pages, or make it appear that the site is made up of static pages only? mod_rewrite can only help with the second option.

Depending on how complex a system of rewrites you need, it is possible that you may be able to figure out how to do it yourself in a relatively short amount of time.

You will need an understanding of mod_rewrite syntax:

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/mod_rewrite.html

As well as a good understanding of regular expressions:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regular_expression

You will need to figure out how much you are willing to pay someone, how much your time is worth, how long it will take you to do it yourself, and then calculate which method is cheaper.
