Default form to email processing script

Hey all,

I'm searching for a replacement script. For quite a while now we've been using the formmail.php script which was a great script to use, however, lately there's been some major issues with getting spam via our forms.

What I'm looking for is an easy to implement form to mail php script (can also include databasing) that has the security built in (type this code in graphics), and a script that is safe (can't be hijacked etc.)

Has anyone found one out there that's really cheap or free (preferred as we have lots of small business clients).

Appreciate any help! Thanks!

Hi orion

I also have a lot of small business clients, and I find that Sonic Contact is easy to configure and modify.

Thanks, I'll check that one out! Lots of reformating required I noticed.. it's not very accessible nor xhtml compliant. Once I get it working should be simple enough to implement on other sites, first one will always be the most time consuming lol..

If you're looking to create your own I would suggest using the SwiftMailer library. You will need to write your own form processing script, CAPTCHA test etc but the library will handle any issues with email header injection for you. Very easy to use too

Hey mikesmith76, definitely the security I want, but beyond the bare basics of a php script I don't have the time of patience.
The majority of my focus is optimization, cleaning up site code simplifying design, getting sites to rank well organically and stuff... I'm not a programmer. I am also building up a bit of a hosting base (5 servers now) and need a script I can recommend to clients as well as simply plug into sites myself, something to replace the formmail.php script which is essentially the Matt's formmail.pl converted and more secure.
CAPTCHA is what we want, but it totally confuses me at a glance anyway.
