Please Help!

I'm updating a website for a friend. Its pretty much complete. I have the user name and the password, but according to the person that last designed it, it's hosted with "clarinet." This is a hosting company I can find out almost nothing about. I've tried doing a whois search, and came back with www.1stserv.com, but cannot log in with them with the password username I have been given. Any idea what the issue might be?
