Default Whats in a namespace?

I'm a bit new to all this RSS feed stuff, so I have a question thats probably a bit stupid...

I was trying to find out how to make rss feeds for my sitemap and I came across ROR (www.rorweb.com). It seemed to me that they explained rss in a way that was useable. So I followed their instructions and created a feed - www.speyside-developments.co.uk/ror.xml

The ROR format was promising to make it easier for search engines to access my site and index it. To quote from their home page "Unlike Google Base, ROR feeds can easily be accessed by all search engines.

But is this true? As I say, I'm just starting to dip my toes into the rss water, but surely ANY xml feed is readable by any search engine, or by any other site?

Isn't that the whole point of xml? Isn't the definition of what the xml means contained in the namespace?

So my question is - should I go with ROR or with Google Base? Which will really be the more powerful indexing and marketing tool?
