Default How do I add "Add comment" feature to my website?

Hi, I want to add an "Add comment" feature to some of my webpages but I don't know how to go about it. You can see an here

http://www.betanews.com/article/Micr...565309#c342306

I don't want the comments to be added immediately but rather have them go to a control panel where I could decide whether the comment is suitable or not.

Does antbody have any ideas?

Default I wrote my own

I have just written my own such system, in PHP and MySQL.

Be aware that many of the incoming posts will be spam, so you are correct to not allow them to appear without vetting first.

Default How to do it...

Obviously no idea what your technical level is, but basically, a form on screen, user presses submit, the comment is stored in a database, and an email sent to the office. The email contains a link to a private Edit page, which has "approve" and "delete" on it.

I want to add Captcha when I get time, to cut down on the rubbish received.

Default Tightly integrated

I haven't seen anything like this in public domain scripts, as it is quite tightly bound with the rest of your site.

I have sent you a PM

You're talking about a somewhat complex web application. This topic should be deleted lol.

Hello deadhippo,

If you are a programmer then i'd suggest you to search for programming code realted to "add a comment script" in whatever coding langauge you need it. If you are not a techie then we may offer you a solution but obviously it will be paid. You can see an example at the link below. The comments do not become visible immediately after posting. They have to be approved by the administrator before they are made visible.

Example: http://www.knowledgebase-script.com/...tion.php?ID=29

Sincerely,
