Default Open Source Email Server

Hi, can anyone suggest some open source email. The email interface that comes with my server is a bit boring and not overly accessible. Neomail - Horde - Squirrelmail, etc.

My server OS is "Apache version 1.3.33 (Unix)"

Could I modify the interface - and how?

I also want to be able to add smiley packs.

Try using Roundcube, it is pretty good but to install it, you will need root access on the server.

You can read this guide to install Roundcube on a cpanel server and integrate it with cpanel...

Or if you wish to add smiley packs or modify the interface, you will have to check offcial documentation of each software and then modify the stuff according to that.

Regards,
Deep

Dear orko3001,

Although I believe you are asking for software, there are now many *BIG* HE-BE-GB-E-mail servers, which have lots of sub-user features where you can set-up accounts for end-users ....

Recently I've come across Luxsci.com, Mailix.net (Horde?) ... and as of this week or so lycos.com is 3GB ... yahoo has 1GB, google is 2.5GB(?) at last notice ....

Ray.

If its an open source mailserver you're after. try hmailserver.

For webmail, I use squirelmail myself, and have customised it all to the look and feel I want. If your a dab hand with php you could also add exra functionality with this.

For email clients, try thunderbird.
