Default PHP Form doesn't show on Customers site

Hi all

Please please help me. I managed to get my form up and running at http://www.dvhdesign.co.uk/visitform.php no problem there.

But I have tried the same setup on my customers server http://www.quality-matters.com/enquiry.php and although the page shows, the PHP include (to which contains the form) does not. I have tried placing it in a sub folder, changing the permissions but nothing.

Also I have tried the "Hello World" test to see if the server accepts PHP to start with and it works on every browser except MSIE.

As I am a newbie to PHP, it could just be something trivial, but any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Many thanks,

It doesn't look like the server has php installed.
In the source code, you can see the php include syntax.

and when you browse the php file you are trying to include, in Firefox it spits out the code and in IE it asks to be downloaded.

Thanks for your help cynaide (again!)

It has emerged that although the customer's site runs on a UNIX server, its an old server that doesn't accept PHP. The old server company was bought by a major company and although they look after the site, they can't support it.

So its up to my customer whether he wants to upgrade to the major company's packages or suffer a lifetime of spammers exploiting his CGI form with no possible end in sight.

God, I love sagas like this (not!).

No problem.

That IS old... php is pretty much standard nowadays, even on a Win box.

The formmail replacement script, nms formmail, should solve the spammer problem. The recipient email address is not required in the html form. It is contained within the perl script itself.

Erm, is there a reason my links were broken?

I can assure you I wasn't spamming the forum (not when I'm normally the one who rings the spam bell for others). I merely showed the links so everyone knew what I was whittering on about.

They were broken when I first replied.
I fixed them for you. How did you make out?
