Default Anybody using Ruby on Rails?

Hello all,

for some reason I totally missed
http://www.rubyonrails.org

This sounds *very* promising, so I'd like to get some opinions of people who are using it (or tried it).

What is/was your experience with ruby on rails?

Cheers,
faglork

I would like to find some good feedback on here about it! I have read a bit, but have not used it, however would love to find more from a beginner stand point on it.

I frankly don't know what you are talking about.

a) there is NO advertising on http://www.rubyonrails.org/
b) ruby on rails is open source software - afaik there is no advertising for it
c) I am not involved, otherwise you would read it on the page. I wish I were involved ...

Maybe you did not understand what this is about?
Quote:
Rails is a full-stack framework for developing database-backed web applications according to the Model-View-Control pattern. From the Ajax in the view, to the request and response in the controller, to the domain model wrapping the database, Rails gives you a pure-Ruby development environment. To go live, all you need to add is a database and a web server.
If the software lives up to these claims, it will be highly beneficial for many of us.

Since there are no responses, I infer that is is not widely used among the members of WPW, so I will install and test it. I will keep you informed.

Cheers,
faglork

I have a new host that has it installed and will soon start playing around with it. It seems almost visual and has got me thinking of ways that technology like this can be taken even further. It's only a few steps away. There is also a smaller, less known technology using PHP here http://www.phpontrax.com/
