Default CSS observation

Ill admit I am in the learning stage of CSS.
Naturally, I'll have to ask one of those dumb newbie questions. :)

I'm in the process of converting a site to CSS.
what's the deal with CSS making a page look so much more crisp than the html version?

Everything I changed uses the same colors and text and yet CSS makes it look like a just gave the site a bath. It sparkles now.

So what's up with that?

An optical illusion? Too much beer? Sleepless for 20 hours? I don't know. But there is no difference in rendering.

Maybe it is a holistic experience: An "all-new" website may look different for you just because it is all new. Even if the design did not change.

It also makes your site look more consistent.

Sorry, but look at your home page now. Your site has small Verdana text, except for the "Search now for yourself" line which is in normal-sized Times New Roman. Therefore looking very out of place.

Get a good book or opt for an online tutorial. The possibilities with CSS are endless (trust me I know) ;)

HTH. And if not, there is always help and advice available on this forum on tap.
