Default ASP chilisoft for linux servers

hi all,

i have a website on Microsoft IIS server, written in ASP with Access database.

I'm thinking of changing my hosting provider to another one, that is a lot cheaper, but only has servers based on Linux.

The people from this Linux provider tell me i can still run ASP through the chilisoft interpreter. Unfortunately, i have no experience with chilisoft, so i would like your opinion.

QUESTION: is this chilisoft OK? will my ASP-website still work on this new-linux-chilisoft-server? And can i keep my access-DB? is there a way to make Access work on linux?

thanx

As far as I know, there is no way to make Access work on Linux. Access requires the Office Server extensions, which I don't believe are available for Linux.

Also, many of the commands (e.g. Execute) don't work.

If you're going to use Access/ASP, you're always best to leave it in its native environment (i.e. IIS.)

Although I agree with ADAM's comments above (i.e. leave ASP/access on IIS) I have had some experience running chilisoft. The site I used to work on was written in ASP and run on a linux server, the only command that didnt work for me was the mid function (nice odd one not to work). However we were using interbase for the database.

In short ASP could work on the linux box, but dont think you could get access to work.
