Open source / Free chat rooms

Hi all,

I am currently looking for an open source or free chat room facility to add to a clients website, my hosting company does provide a CGI based chatroom but it is very basic and I am not sure how secure it is. Can anyone recommend a quality facility?

If not free, then maybe one that is inexpensive...

After searching Google for a while and trying many different types of chat rooms, one of the best I found was ParaChat - www.parachat.com - There is a free version but as you can imagine, it does come with adverts. However, the 'advanced' version is advert free and costs $75 per year. This includes the hosting of the chat room on their servers, thus reducing the need to install software on your own server.
