Default Multi site Content Management System

What I need is a content management system that can be deployed over individual sub domains, each one having an individual administrator that has a customisable primary template, a set amount of pages/sections and limited permissions to change their own content through an intuitive interface.

I need it to be very cheap or opensource. Can anyone recommend a CMS that will do the job??

The only one that comes to mind for multiple site support is typo3 though I'm not sure about the multiple administrators or limiting the number of pages.

If you don't mind installing multiple copies, one per subdomain, then http://www.opensourcecms.com/ lists a whole load, though I'm not sure about the page limit even then.

I'm not sure if that's any help, but good luck with your search.

Default drupal

Drupal does this... it's explained in the installation readme. Not hard and you can share database tables and users.
