Some websites will have a page where you can sign up to get their newsletter or other information. (i.e. Webproworld's newsletter sign-up on the left.)

How do you build these? Is PHP/mySQL a good way to go? How about building something in ASP? (Any security issues involved?)

Also, is it a good idea to use a free script found on the web or have one built from scratch?

Any examples? Thanks for your input!

It all depends on what your hosting company can support and what you know. We have built a few in ASP / MSAccess. You will probably find more free newsletter scripts built in PHP than ASP though.
