Default encrypted email not working in Firefox.

I just noticed my encrypted email address is not working in Firefox.

I have it on http://www.australian-flower-shops.c...-resources.php, an old site I was just converting to php, and it works ok in IE, but not Firefox.

In step 2 it is supposed to say "send me an email" , where "email" is what shows on the screen, but in the bottom display bar it shows the actual address, and is actually an active link using the mailto: format.

I used siteup.com's free encoder to convert my email address to this hex format.

It had worked well for a few years (as far as I know)(I didn't test in Firefix when I first wrote the site a year or so ago).

1. Does Firefox not like the mailto: command, or not like the hex?

I had not received any spam to any of my sites using this format, until 2 months ago when EVERY address at my sites received identical spam for two weeks.

For 5 different subdomains at my main hosting account, each subdomain has it's own domain name and own email address. I get the emails downloaded automatically using Incredimail so I don't have to logon to each individually. So it was surprising to see each email address suddenly get the same spam for a few days, one after each other. It was as if someone methodically tracked down each of MY websites and decided to spam them with the same message.

Has anyone else using this form of encryption been spammed recently?

Or do I have to resort to displaying an image of my address to beat the spammers.

More curious about the Firefox thing tho.

Default It appears...

It appears that it is because you've mixed encoded and non-encoded. One or the other works fine. You can try my script at this page and see if it works better. I've had no problems when encoding the entire address.

Brian.

Thanks Brian.

You're right - there was a mix of encrypted and unencrypted. I wonder why siteup.com did that?

I just checked a bunch of my other sites and they had the same problem. Guess I have more updates coming.
