Default Does cPanel really have a lot of bugs?

Hi,

I just moved some of my domains to a new host. There was a lot of problem with getting email forwarding to work, and the subdomains to work.

The subdomains ended up with the wrong DNS address in the cPanel, even though the Name Servers at the domain registrar were correct.

The explanation I got was that the problem was cPanel bugs.

Does cPanel really have that many bugs??

Also, this host advertises 3 domains being hosted in one account, but two of the domains are "addon", and end up somehow in a subdomain of the main domain name. But, you can get to them with just mydomain.com.

Could that have something to do with the "cPanel bugs"?

The problems are fixed. For now.

But, any insight to help me evaluate what the host support staff is telling me would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kathleen

cPanel can be a bit buggy, but so can many types of good software.
I would say, move on to a new host that has experience

I really cant stand cpanel. If you are looking for a hosting GUI, I would go with Plesk.

Default I second that...

I second the vote for Plesk. 4 years of trouble-free for us now on many different servers (other than initially forcing a version onto RedHat Enterprise while they were still working on making an Enterprise port : a few manual package installs and even that worked.)

This should be interesting as I am about to try Plesk for the first time... I'll be sure to give my 2cents about it as I have been using CPanel for over 3 years now (WHM for 1.5 years) on a dedicated machine, and really like it.
