Default Help! Images not loading

I am so stumped by this.

Kathleen's "client" (or portfolio) page on her website is not loading right for me. About half the images don't load and "red x" for me eventually. However on her identical laptop, they load fine. But on my work desktop machine, most of them don't load.

Would y'all be kind enough to test this out for me and let me know if all the images load?

http://www.kallenweb.com/clients.htm

If they don't load for you (or if they do), perhaps you could brainstorm about what the problem is?

I mean, either it is something on my pcs, something in the site code, or something about my web host.

Thanks so much,
Hugh

Some versions of IE have been known to have a strange problem with images.

I'm not sure if this is it, and I can't check for you using my computer as I don't seem to be affected,
but are the images on the server saved with file suffixes in CAPITALS?

e.g. image-number-one.JPG

If so, then you should change the source code of the webpage to reflect this, because at the moment, your image tags are like this:

e.g. image-number-one.jpg

Try it, it might work. I experienced a problem on a friend's server just like this, and that fixed it.

I'll think if I can give you any other ideas on what it might be if that doesn't work.

Thanks very much for taking the time to brainstorm on this with me. I have seen that IE error but a friend has reported the same thing with firefox viewing that page now and then (not all the time). (In fact I just viewed the page again and all images loaded this time).

Excellent guess on the .jpg/.JPG filenames, but they are all in lower case on the server, matching the html image code.

Other ideas are definitely welcome!!

Hmm.

If your friend with Firefox is loading the images occasionally, but sometimes not, I think the only real reason can be that you have a problem with your webserver.

Try re-installing Apache (or whatever you're using).

Can you maybe let us know what image(s) is/are having a problem? The images code look ok with the exception no ALT tags in them.

Yes. Typically the first couple on the left load, and usually the last, but the ones in between red X after several seconds.

Working fine from the computer I'm using at work right now. How frustrating!

A couple of those are gifs. What I wuld actually do, grab the images & "convert" them all to jpgs. Even the ones that are already jpgs. There could be some type of corruption and (re-)converting might fix the problem

The site looks fine right now. I tested on Windows XP Professional and in both IE 6 and Firefox 1.0.2. The Flash logo works fine in both too.

Yeah, you should give that a go.

You can even do it in Paint!
