Default looking for a server-hosted website builder

I work with a website hosting company and I'm looking for website building software that gets installed on the server and allows users to build their own websites without having to know any HTML.

I'd like it to support multiple sites each with its own domain name, and I'd like all the data to be stored in a single database with the web pages generaged dynamically when their viewed.

An example of what I'm looking for is Soholaunch Web Studio but wanted to know if anyone was aware of any other similar products.

Thanks!

Thanks. It looks like you've got a good candidate. I'll demo it in the next few days.

Who would you say are your biggest competitors?

Do you know of a site that has independent reviews of web builders?

I'll probably get hate mail for developing a CMS that only works with Internet Explorer, but it has enabled us to create a very intuitive interface.

See www.123live.co.uk. I'll be happy to chew over some ideas with you.[/url]

I use an ASP/Javascript editor for my clients that works in IE, FF, and I believe NS (haven't tried the new version on NS yet), and it's almost idiot-proof.

http://www.innovastudio.com

I say almost because one of my clients has figured out that you can't code a page to stream a video since it doesn't support ASX files.

Also, if users copy/paste from Word without using the Paste from Word button, they'll get the code that Microsoft generates when it converts a Word doc to a web page. (This is the biggest weakness I've found with the product to date, but the button serves as a workaround and if people copy/paste to Notepad and then copy/paste to the editor, Notepad strips out the formatting.)

However, the positives of the tool far outweigh the negatives. It functions very similarly to Word, which I would say most people are at least familiar with; the adding/deleting/modifying of pics and pages using the Asset Manager is an excellent feature; if you want to, you can even control what can be uploaded.

And most importantly, it's very WYSIWYG. So it's very easy to use.

Note: I'm not a reseller or anything and I never built the tool. I'm just a customer that likes it.

Hey Ducky,

The SiteBuilder-FX is written in PHP & Flash, so it's quite easy to customize, add new templates & categories to the library, etc. (PHP & Flash knowledge required of course).

You can download a trial version here: http://www.webdesignhq.com/site/part...m_download.php

Hope this helps,

Cheers!
Jared

Default SiteBuilder

We’ve been working with www.toplineventures.com and their SiteBuilder for over 3 years now and I can recommend it. It’s an ASP service so there is no install/change to your servers. We’ve got hundreds of users on it that would otherwise never be able to create a site. It’s based on the Trellix sitebuilder as selected by some of the biggest hosts (EarthLink, Fasthosts). Talk to Robert (robert@toplineventures.com) and tell them Stacy says you should get a break on the sign up fee ;-)

Default Re: looking for a server-hosted website builder

I own a copy of Sitebuilder-FX

I would simply like a host that allows it to run. My current host has some restrictions or something-ive had the support ticket in for over a week and "we are working on it" is all I have gotten in response.

This host also must provide a wildcard dns - I am willing to buy a domain name as well, if any of you know a for sure host.

PS. The host must have cpanel with fantastico and such as a package etc...I am not to suave with other panels -s-
