Webhosting for multiple domains...
I previously had hosted all my sites on a linux box running apache which made it extremely easy for me to host multiple domains... however there are a couple reasons I am wanting to purchase webhosting.
First, my computer kept crashing... very unusual for a linux computer, so I'm thinking it's hardware related. Second, I don't want to have the headache of keeping hackers out and what not.. i'd rather someone else do that for me. Third, I don't have the fastest connection in the world, so a professional hosting company would make my sites even better.
Anyway... the problem is that I have about 5 or 6 different websites with different domains. I could purchase hosting for each one individually, but I would prefer to find a webhost that allows you to have multiple domains...
I am thinking of maybe becoming a "reseller" at a hosting company that I will keep unnamed (i don't want to offer any bias, and I also want to prove that I'm not advertsing for this company hehe).
This reseller account would provide me unlimited domains with reasonable storage and transfer limits for around 25 bucks a month. My question is... what are some reasonably priced hosting companies that might allow multiple domains, are fast, and aren't resellers for another hosting company?
Hosting resellers are running rampant, and i'd like to find some good quality hosts that I can trust and be happy with.
Thank you for your input.

Here are a few within your price range with a solid reputation.
httpme.com
clook.net
unitedhosting.co.uk
voxtreme.com
If I were in the market for a reseller account then I would go with httpme, they are a little pricier than most good resellers but the support is top notch and they use premium hardware and no shady practices such as overselling their capacity. Aussie Bob is always about their forums and the community forums are extremely helpful.
Hope that helps.
Regards, Eamonn.

Something to consider aside from price.. is how 'oversold' the servers might be..
If you go with a Virtual or Shared setup.. you are allotted so much of the cpu at any given time..
Most virtual setups let you install as many sites as your alloted disk space will allow.. (unlimited is a relative term)
Some hosting companies know that many of the sites/clients on a vps are 'low load'.. so they overcommit the resources. Put 10 clients on a 1.8G Celeron and each client has 50 customers/sites... that is 500 active sites.. Google or Slurp crawl a few of the larger sites concurrently on that machine, and the entire server slows to a crawl..
$25 a month for 5 domains.. that is 17 cents a day per domain.. That is not a lot of money..
How much is your hobby site/web business worth to you for consistent, secure, reliable, access..?
just my 2 cents..

try canadian
If you're in Canada, why not try a Canadian company. You'll pay more than $25 for a reseller account, but it's "local" and you can actually talk to a person on a real telephone.
Check out the http://www.fxstudios.net web site. They do have fairly low limits on the amount of e mail messages you can send per hour if you have a newsletter. This is to prevent spam, and to keep one person from hogging the resources also. I would rather take longer to send my newsletter and know it is going out from servers whose owners care about not having spammers as customers!
Just a suggestion. I know there are a lot of good companies. I happen to like this one. My former hosting company didn't care who did what, and wasn't good on tech support either. I'm paying more now: Yep, I get what I pay for.

I've been very pleased with micfo.com.
I pay $40/mo for hosting for 20 domains. They have other plans of course.
So far (about 6 months) the support has been perfect.
Free Urchin stats for all domains, a big plus for me. Fantastico with tons of scripts etc. Cpanal and WebHostManager to manage the whole thing.
After 10 years of dealing with hosting companies I'm pretty darn fussy. Support, professionalism and reliability are what matters. If you don't get that, it's going to be expensive (in time) no matter what the price is.
I don't work or sell for micfo.com, just a happy customer. Best of luck!

Another thing to consider is location, it is good to have a server located as close as possible to your target users, surprisingly this does make a difference in how quick the site loads for your users. Looking at a server on the other side of the world is considerably slower.
Also if you have a server in your own country, looks like yours is Canada, this mean you'll appear on Googles localised searches on google.ca. If your website is on a server in the US you would not show up in the results for this. The only exception to this rule is if your domain ends with .ca, in this case it would still show up regardless of location.
This is the same for all local googles such as google.co.uk and google.ie etc etc.

I'd recommend http://www.tektonic.net/. They let you customize your server as you please. Especially if you get one of their virtual hosting plans. Then you have to manage it yourself, but you know what you are getting in terms of performance and configuration.
Good luck and report back your experience.

A Suitable Reseller
I personally have used the company and would highly recommend them to anyone (no spam) and have had very good results both with the hosting and customer service.
(mod edit: no self-promo, please
ps: recommending a company by pretending it's not your own, is not going to give you much credibility)
