VBScript in a non web environment.

Does anyone know much about VBScript and its uses outside of web development?

I am automating a process in a program called Spirit - a hotel booking system looks and works similar to Paradox and other systems of that nature.

I am trying to get a popup dialog box that allows me to put a list of items with check boxes for each item.

Currently to get a dialog box where a user can input a single row of text i use the command:

haDialogBox("Box Title", "Text Content (instrustions/question)", 1(this is for a single "ok" button))

Anyone know much about this? It would be a big help.
