Default Java script dropdown menu compatibility

Hi All, my site www.dizzidezine.com.au, has a lot of content and I wanted to add in a javascript drop-down menu. The ones that cascade into more links. I see that they're mostly only compatible with IE5 and up. Does anyone know if this is something to be concerned about. I don't want to turn anyone away who isn't totally updated. Any help on finding some good software to generate the code would also be appreciated. Free or not too expensive.
Cheers
Miles

Are you at all familiar with putting values in javascript? For instance, putting the links in a js file, and configuring the number of links?

This is pretty staight forward, although can be slightly time consuming.

This menu is completely free, works all browsers, and has the links in html in the page. There are quite a few demos and examples here:

Hi All,

The open cube is a DHTML menu that uses java. I have it and it makes a cool menus quickly, nice effects too.

I also use Fireworks to build java and graphics driven menus. I then seperate the java and palce it in a seperate file then use a call inside the page along side the mm_menu.js that is also called for the layout of the menu. You can see it at work here http://216.219.192.8/.

This is the SSI to create the menu as the page is requested
