Hi loseriam

I am looking into that myself Java-script can find out the screen resolution and then redirect to an alternate page that you have loaded. I am not happy with that and will still look for more methods. I have programmed variables into my div's that alternate the position of the div's. I know that I will still have to use java to find out resolution and then pass the variable to my php. I don't know java and that is a problem. Look into java.

If I understand your question right, you may be referring to a technique known as fluid design (or liquid design). Here's a link that may help you get started in a tutorial to show how it's done.

The code example actually starts on the second page.

Best wishes,

Default Opening a full sized window based on screen resolution

Opening a window fullscreen is not as easy as you might expect. If the only browser out there were Internet Explorer, then you would have no problem, but unfortunately (or fortunately) this is not the case.

Take a look at this previous discussion, detailing how you might go about detecting browser resolution and then opening a suitably sized window.

How to detect resolution

Hope that helps!

Paul

NB. A cautionary note... not every visitor will take too kindly to you taking control of their browser window. Good practice dictates you should alert people to this fact before the event! :o)
