Web Project

Hi guys/gals,
im new here, i just wondered if anyone can help me with a new web project.
I want to distribute a plugin/software which will record the distance travelled of the users mouse for collation to the web and graphical output to how far total users' mouses have travelled. I have no idea what i would use to do all this and was wondering if anyone can help.
