Default PostNuke vs. Plone / Zope

I'm looking for a reliable / flexible FREE CMS to run on an intranet. I'm willing to invest in the time to learn the system. I'd be interested to see what the opinions are on Postnuke vs. Plone (Zope).

I have to run it on Microsoft IIS 5.0, so if it's only for apache, linux, sorry.

If there is another popular/recommended CMS, I'd be glad to hear it.

Here are Some criteria: SUPPORT, Quick Searches, Forums, Polling, News, Document Storage ie. policies & procedures, Flow process for approvals.

www.postnuke.com / www.plone.org / www.zope.org

Thank you.

Jamie

Default Mos

There is another CMS System that is drawing people from postnuke.
Is Mambo Open Source, its availble for free from www.mamboserver.com and a huge community for it is availble at www.mamboportal.com
It is a new release which has some great features.
It offers everything you could want, easy to make changes and is availble on linux, aapache and microsoft.
The community at mambo server forums and mamboportal offers lots of help, there are loads of tempalte, modules and components downloads.
Its better than postnuke.
I used it for my clients, in the OIl and Gas industry and it has atracted alot of interest and provided a profesional company profile.

Default PHP-Nuke vs. Mambo

Hi,

I'm also searching for the perfect, free CMS.

At first I thought it was Mambo, so I installed it. Very pretty -- and I love the variety of modules.

But when I started using it, I soon found out the modules that involve uploading don't work (template manager, media manager).

Despite applying all available patches, when I try to upload an image or theme, I get an error.

So much for Mambo. What good is a beautiful interface if it doesn't work?

So now I'm trying PHP-Nuke. It doesn't offer as much as Mambo, but at least it does what it's supposed to. The main thing I miss is Mambo's newsfeeds.

Anyone know of a newsfeed module for PHP-Nuke? Also, where can you get an encyclopedia to fill the encyclopedia module?

Or should my the search continue?

Did you investigate your webhost's server settings.
I know some people have had trouble because their host's were too restrictive with their settings like php.

I've got a couple Mambo's running with no problems whatsoever.
The one thing I like over the nukes, is the speed of mambo.. fast !
and more search engine friendly
