timer script required

Hi ,
I need a timer script which waits for a user specified amount of time before the rest of the page is displayed.
This needs to be implemented in javascript or html and can be added as an include in any asp page.

Eg. I have a page which queries a database and displays a set of results .Now i need the timer functionality such that the database query is executed in the page , but the display is not shown till the set time value has elapsed.
