Hi all,
This is a wierd one. With all the hotel booking sites around i wondered if there was some open source or purchaseable software to manage hotel bookings. The main problems i can see is that hotel rates vary with season, hotels have a finite amount of rooms and they would all have different banking details so there needs to be a way of transfering the correct funds to the correct hotel. Thanks, Chris.

Hotel booking systems vary in complexity and any reasonable one would require good serverside coding knowledge and good MySQL knowledge for complexed date queries.
I'm not aware of any open source as I really can't see anyone giving away a complex program capable generating anyone with zero skills a reasonable income. The property rental market is now saturated with such booking sites and I would urge you to consider carefully before entering into it. |

Developing the site is one thing, anyone can create a database system and do some programming to track availability, dates, times etc... getting a sales team to cut deals with hotel chains to get competitive prices with the big boys like travelocity, expedia or orbitz would be the hard part.
